Ed's and Embarcadero are ideally suited for small to medium sized private
functions. Our private dining rooms can accommodate birthday bashes,
retirement parties, Christmas or holiday dinners, Stampede breakfasts,
stags and stagettes, wedding rehearsal dinners and small wedding
receptions.
Ed's has private
dining rooms available for groups of 10 to 24 for table service. Larger groups (up to 45) can be accommodated upstairs at the
Embarcadero, and up to 60 in two adjoining rooms at Ed's. Private room bookings are subject to availability. There is no separate room charge, but minimum
food and beverage purchases are sometimes required at times when we expect to be full.
Cocktail style service for
up to 100 people can also be provided on the main floor at Ed's, and up to 300 summertime at the Embarcadero with our
outdoor tent in the backyard.
A selection of finger foods is specified, or alternatively, we can suggest a selection for you based on your budget and style of gathering.
We can develop a budget for a cocktail style function based on the following parameters:
- Food selection,
- Beverage style (open bar or limited selection),
- Number of invitees, and
- Duration of the event.
Typically food for about
half the expected number of attendees will be provided at the outset and
replenished as consumed, and are offered on trays as well as arranged on
side tables. Beverages can either be ordered at the bar or servers
can take orders from the floor.
Food and beverages are
charged as served. Generally consumption is higher with full service
of food and beverages. A typical budget for a 2 to 3-hour evening
function is $15 to $25 per person for food (click

for sample selections), and an average of two drinks
per person or $12 in beverages. 6% tax and 15% gratuity is
additional.
For sit-down dinners or luncheons, custom menus are available. This has two
advantages - the food will arrive faster as the selections can be anticipated in advance, and the cost will be within a desired
budget, useful if one person or company is hosting, due to the wide range of menu prices.
Generally, the courses are available as follows:
- Cocktail appetizers in a variety selected beforehand in quantities from $2 to $8 per person,
- Starter course (usually soup or salad),
- Entree from a list of 4 or 5 choices pre-selected from the menu, and
- Dessert either pre-selected options or a variety platter.
Guests would be presented with a customized, half-page menu with company name and event and list of choices.
Depending on number of courses and items selected, the cost of this option ranges from
$15 to $35 per person. Click here
for sample group menus. Prices for items are as per menu prices, and are charged as ordered. We do this because there can be a wide
range of prices for the desired items, and for hosted events there is no benefit in a uniform price per person as long as the overall cost fits within the
budget.
We can adjust portions and selections to have fixed per-person prices for non-hosted events if necessary. For group bookings, items other than
those on the menu can be arranged, subject to availability of product and sufficient notice.
Group bookings (10 or more) prior to major Saddledome or Stampede events
(eg. NHL Hockey games, concerts, rodeo) can only accepted subject to the following conditions:
- The group must arrive at least two hours prior to event start time, or alternatively the
food must be pre-ordered or limited to a few pre-arranged items.
- Large groups can only be accommodated if having a meal - we unfortunately cannot
reserve for groups having just drinks and appetizers at these times, unless finger-food items are ordered in meal quantities.
- Rooms are available
privately prior to major events if the group is large enough to fill the room
(a minimum of 16 people), or with a minimum $600 in food and beverage purchases for smaller groups.
Groups are encouraged to pre-order when limited for time - please refer to the on-line menus, and
phone or email the group's order, including the name of the person ordering and the name of the reservation, and a contact name or email
